Race 5 – Class 2 (1400m) Sanctuary Cove won well here first-up then probably wasn’t suited on the heavy. Zap’s in great form and the extra distance will suit. Vanilla Jewel should be fit third-up after just missing out last start. Awake The Stars put in a solid effort at first SEQ appearance and may go on with it. Race 6 – BM 65 Hcp (1800m) Sharp Speedo, from the good draw, is the one to beat after running on in a tougher race last start. She’s A Youeffoh had a tough run here last start and is right in this. Planet America won previously this track and distance and must include. Nelumbo has been working up to this distance. Selections: 6 Sharp Speedo, 4 She’s A Youeffoh, 8 Planet America, 11 Nelumbo

Race 7 – Class 1 Hcp (1200m) Armet stuck on well after a torrid run last start and drops back to a Class 1. It was an excellent maiden win by Call The Coppers and then ran well at Doomben. Hacksaw Ridge won easily first-up and can win again. Zou Der Zee ran well in this class two starts ago. Selections: 3 Armet, 2 Call The Coppers, 6 Hacksaw Ridge, 8 Zou Der Zee

Race 8 – BM 75 Hcp (1400m) Iron George was a tragedy beaten when held up last start and can make amends. Track and distance expert Arena Salon and is a top chance after going OK in a tougher race in town. Last-start winner Legal Counsel should be on the speed and distance suits. Excalibrat­or just needs luck from the draw.
