Just reading about the new shopping centre to be built at cnr Bermuda/Hooker Bvd. Has any of these people ever driven along this road? Just imagine the traffic it will create. Already too busy. – Gz

Oh wonderful, just what we don’t need. Another shopping centre. More traffic hassles will follow. – PJ

Not a peep from Anna on the loss of a greatly loved, respected, grand dame of Queensland, Lady Flo. Disgraceful Premier. Cat got your tongue?

Why wasn’t the late Lady Flo front page?

What has gone wrong in the Southport CBD? I have lived in Kings Cross, Fortitude Valley and have travelled all over the world and never seen so many druggies, ferals, ice addicts, homeless drunks drinking and taking drugs on the footpaths. It's scary and a disgrace. – Jack

After five days of real cricket, the Big Bash starts. What an anti-climax!

What is it with the pea brains who switch lanes to get one or two cars ahead? I always have a chuckle when they eventually end up four to five cars behind their original spot.

Oh yes, I remember when Newman was voted in. What hope and vision he had for Queensland. Shame the looney lefts couldn’t see it and trashed all the good he did.

Totally agree DD (19/12), keep SSM with family and friends not everyone enjoys have pictures of gay people and wedding plans. My mate’s getting married but no story on him and future spouse.

Gold Coast, enjoy the light rail, forget about the M1. Who cares if no one can get to work in a few years? – Micko Re coal pit. You are right, Mick. And the LNP are giving the foreign owners 1 billion to take overseas and make profit. No wonder no money for M1. Only for LNP donators. – Jk

Crime growing in Queensland, so is congestion on M1. What you doing Annastacia?

Do you all know that most mothers and their feral boyfriends who kill their children happens in Qld where Labor is so lenient with criminals and we have another 4 yrs of Annastacia. God help the kids in the meantime. – A loving mum of 2 children.

I believe petrol retailers play a bigger part in this petrol thievery than we may think.

No one gets $1500 a week on welfare. You would have to have 10 to 12 kids and even

then it’s fortnightly payments. Get your facts straight before you start making statements like that.

Good old Donald looking after the rich again, Australia not far behind in joining suit. Merry Christmas to the homeless and jobless.

Agree with Beth Hall. Don’t take rainforest at Narrowneck for a structure for Surfers Paradise SLSC which I don’t think is intended for the public anyway. There’s already some sort of storage facility/club room for surf club tucked away nearby. Trevor Hendy use that!

A big thank you to the crew from Tweed Heads fire brigade for giving Santa a ride to the Xmas party at Fingal.

Have helped 2 mature age ladies this week who took bad falls due to loosely fitted sandals and thongs. Should wear proper shoes much easier than have broken hips. – Dix

As a visiting Kiwi I’m amazed at the crowing you do about your sporting prowess. I wonder how well you would do if you had to pick your sports teams from 4 million people.

There must be a way we the people can sue Tom Tate and his ilk for gifting public land to the Turf Club and then destroying a beloved nature area not to mention the destruction of protected species' habitat. – Goldie

I read in the paper Mayor Tom says “our beaches are ready” for summer. Have you tried swimming in the beaches on the northern end, Tom? Ready for what?

Fully agree Rod Watson. Abbot and his cronies went against SSM citing religious beliefs and now he is backing the church being able to hide pedeophiles. And they want most of the recommendations about child abuse exempt from churches. LNP are a bunch of grubs. – Jk

Beattie can’t guarantee there would not be a car ploughing through pedestrians here. Don’t treat us as idiots!

What happened to the lovely big Xmas tree that has always been in the park opposite The Grand Hotel? Oh that’s right it may offend some foreigners. Well get over it and go back to your own countries.

Another attack in Melbourne. Another tick for diversity. Time to protect law abiding citizens. – Don

Import special sand for the beach volleyball at Cooly? What a nanny state! And it will cost 50 grand. Our local school kids play on local sand. Should this dangerous activity be stopped? – Marty
