SUMMARY

Slight ESE swell hovers around 1ft+ at best across exposed breaks all weekend, with similarly tiny to near-flat conditions persisting on Christmas Day. A minor building trend in SSE to SE windswell is expected during Boxing Day through Wednesday and Thursday, but even this is looking marginal. Light to moderate N to NE winds prevail ahead of a weak southerly change due early on Boxing Day.

TODAY

Mix of slight NE windswell and background ESE swells to 1ft exposed breaks, virtually flat elsewhere.

Wind: Early light NW to WNW tending NNE 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.

TOMORROW

Combinatio­n of very slight ENE windswell and background S swell. Sets around 1ft+ exposed beaches, virtually flat inside the points and bays.

Wind: Early light NW tending N, then NNE 10 to 20 knots during the afternoon.

MONDAY

Slight ENE swell and background S swell. Around 1ft+ exposed beaches, virtually flat inside the points and bays.

Wind: Early NW tending NNE 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.

TUESDAY

Slight SSE windswell gradually builds. Around 1ft+ early, building towards 1 to 2ft across southern QLD during the afternoon. Up to 1 to 3ft across northern NSW south facing breaks.

Wind: Early inshore SSW tending S 15 to 20 knots, then SSE to SE during the afternoon.

WEDNESDAY

Potential for small SE windswell. Sets around 1 - 2ft exposed QLD breaks, up to a larger 1 to 3ft across northern NSW coasts. Grading smaller inside the points and bays. Wind: Southern QLD: Early light S to SW, tending SE to ESE 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.
