TOP SURF CLUB OFFERS TERRIFIC SPOT TO DINE

-

Australia Day may be over for another year, but there’s no reason to stop celebrating living in the best city in this lucky country.

Where better to remember all we have to be grateful for than at a surf club? Boasting a beachfront location, great food and a packed pub, the best part is by dining here you’re supporting our safe beaches.

At the southern base of Miami Hill, a lookout responsible for some of the most jaw-dropping views on the Coast, you’ll find North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club, recently voted top club in the Bulletin’s Best of the Gold Coast poll.

Just a stone’s throw from the sand, the club was established in 1949 and is still going strong.

“Our motto is N.O.N.E. – Not One Not Ever,” says marketing manager Carly Way. “There have been no lives lost at North Burleigh in that time, which we’re very proud of.”

Of course this wouldn’t be possible without the other side of the business, which puts the lifesavers on the beach.

“All money raised through sales and profits (in the bar, restaurant, gaming and functions) goes to putting lifesavers on the beach,” says Carly.

“Without people coming in and enjoying a schnitzel and a beer we wouldn’t be able to. So you should feel good about eating that parmi.”
