JOIN CIRCUS FOR A GOOD LOOK AT RIO
Your baby is definitely going to smile if you go to Rio.
Circus Rio, that is. Themed around Rio de Janeiro’s famous Carnival, Circus Rio will take the whole family on a journey through Brazil with authentic costumes, music and performances such as samba and capoeira dancing, each with their own twist.
Circus Rio is a performance that has been conceptualised by leading visionaries in the industry.
The team behind this extravaganza has put on shows throughout the globe, including Europe, Japan, the USA and Russia.
This new international spectacular has just been unleashed on the Gold Coast.
Running until February 18, Circus Rio is fit for families, teenagers singles and couples alike.
Consisting of two acts at 50 minutes each, the circus involves up to 50 international performers highly
skilled in their field. Opening with a tribe of Brazilian dancers in full carnival costume, be greeted with a fusion of capoeira and acrobatics.
In case you don’t know, capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art – combined here with an element of extreme danger.
The famous wheel of death, normally performed with the safety of cables and within the strict parameters of the sphere, is stripped of tradition – ditching the safety gear and upping the stunts to be performed inside, outside and on top of the moving wheel.
Circus Rio’s lead FMX rider will also be breaking Australian history … being the first to somersault over the stage.
Aside from these extreme adrenalin-charged acts, the performance will also include aerialists, hula hoop and ballet artists.
It may be Circus Rio but this big top was built for an Australian audience. Don’t sweat the summer heat with a venue that’s fully ventilated and air-conditioned – with snack food available.
After each performance the cast will be available for a meet and greet and photo opportunity on stage at no additional cost.
