GOLD COAST QUADDIE

- TOM HACKETT LADBROKES

Race 5 – BM 58 Hcp (900m) Jest Excel loves the shortcourse sprints and on her best form is the class horse in this field. She is unbeaten first-up and will be tough to beat. Jakuta’s best form has been in this distance range and he is another horse that runs well fresh. Capital City has raced well at the Gold Coast in the past. Dragon Street is on the quick back-up after racing well last week.

Selections: 3 Jest Excel, 5 Jakuta, 6 Capital City, 1 Dragon Street

Race 6 – Cl4 Hcp (1200m) Amenzel has recorded two wins on the trot and is racing in career-best form. No reason he can’t reproduce that and win again. Martinelli has three wins from as many starts at the Gold Coast and goes like the clappers first-up. It has been a while between race starts for Mystic Moon, but she would be right in this race at her best form. Smashed It won well over this track and distance last start.

Selections: 2 Amenzel, 3 Martinelli, 10 Mystic Moon. 4 Smashed It

Race 7 – BM 80 Hcp (1400m) Plucky Girl is a highly consistent runner that rarely produces a bad performance and is weighted to win this race. Desmon’s Pride won well at Doomben last start and has an outstanding record at the Gold Coast. Motion Granted was not beaten far by Desmon’s Pride at Doomben. Trois Choix has won two on the trot and can’t be discounted.

Selections: 8 Plucky Girl, 1 Desmon’s Pride, 7 Motion Granted, 9 Trois Choix

Race 8 – Cl2 Hcp (1400m) Diamonds Are has always been a horse with plenty of potential and he is starting to put all the ingredients together. Coulthard doesn’t win out of turn, but this appears to be the easiest race that he has contested for some time. You can say the same about Madluce Missile and he will need some luck in running from the wide draw. Balabina normally runs well fresh. Selections: 2 Diamonds Are, 1 Coulthard, 4 Madluce Missile, 11 Balabina
