SUMMARY

A combinatio­n of small ENE windswell and fading SSE groundswel­l maintains 2 to 3ft surf across the more exposed beaches early today under moderate to fresh east to north-easterly winds. Both swells fade into the 1 to 2ft range tomorrow through early Monday.

TODAY

Junky mix of ENE windswell and fading SSE swell. Sets to 2 to 3ft exposed breaks, grading smaller inside the points and bays. WIND: Possibly lighter inshore winds early, tending ENE 10 to 15 knots, then NE and freshening to 10 to 20 knots during the afternoon, tending NNE later.

TOMORROW

Smaller mix of NE and SE swells around 1 to 2ft exposed breaks, grading smaller inside the points and bays. WIND: Early light NW to WNW inshore, tending N and freshening 10 to 20 knots during the afternoon.

MONDAY

Tiny mix of ENE and SE swells around 1 to 2ft across the region early. New SSE windswell picks up towards a windblown 2 to 3ft+ across northern NSW coasts during the afternoon. Wrapping at lower 1 to 2ft levels across exposed southern QLD coasts. Near flat inside the points and bays. WIND: Early SSE change 15 to 25 knots, freshening to 20 to 30 knots during the day, then tending SE and easing later.

SSE windswell transition­s SE later. Up to a junky, windblown 3 to 4ft across northern NSW exposed breaks, wrapping at 2 to 3ft into exposed southern QLD coasts and grading to 1 to 2ft+ inside the points and bays. WIND: Lighter inshore SSW tending SSE 15 to 25 knots.

WEDNESDAY

SE windswell up to a junky 3 to 4ft+ exposed northern NSW breaks, wrapping at anywhere from 2 to 4ft across southern Queensland coasts and grading smaller inside the points and bays with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early light SSW inshore, tending SE to ESE 10 to 15 knots, possibly lighter E later.
