GOLD COAST QUADDIE

- TOM HACKETT LADBROKES

Race 5 – Class 4 Hcp (1400m) Elsaray bolted in last start at Toowoomba and has previously performed well on rain-affected tracks. Sweet Shamrock will take plenty of benefit from his strong first-up run. Johnny Be Quick returned to winning form at Ipswich and has won on a heavy track. Bold Assassin rarely runs a bad race. Selections: 2 Elsaray, 4 Sweet Shamrock, 1 Johnny Be Quick, 7 Bold Assassin

Race 6 – BM 65 (1800m)

He doesn’t win out of turn but this does look like a nice race for Dauphin De France. He appreciated the step up to 1800m last start. Nordic Show savaged the line last start to win at the Gold Coast and she likes the sting taken out of the track. Sidero Star is better than his last run suggests. Rival Mo broke through for a maiden race win last start.

Selections: 4 Dauphin De France, 5 Nordic Show, 6 Sidero Star, 9 Rival Mo

Race 7 – Class 1 Hcp (1200m) Balearic relished the heavy conditions to win at Ipswich last start and his best form has been in the mud. All Gifts is lightly raced and has plenty of upside. Reindeer Moon had excuses when she failed to fire at Doomben last start. Madison Point will need luck in running but won impressively before a spell. Selections: 17 Balearic,

3 All Gifts, 12 Reindeer Moon, 4 Madison Point

Race 8 – BM 65 (1400m) Hidden Budget has a good record in the wet and her best form gives her a genuine edge here. Diamonds On Ruby has run well in both starts this preparation and is ready to peak third-up. Bold Peak is not the most consistent horse in the world but can run well on his day. Warface can improve on his last-start effort at Doomben.

Selections: 8 Hidden Budget, 13 Diamonds On Ruby, 1 Bold Peak, 3 Warface
