GOLD COAST QUADDIE

- TOM HACKETT LADBROKES

Race 6 – Bat Out Of Hell (900m)

Prompt Return won this race 12 months ago and is unbeaten over 900m. Guard Of Honour is the obvious danger but is under the odds at his current quote. Irish Constabulary was excellent last start at the Gold Coast and loves these shortcourse sprints. Ringo’s A Rockstar beat Guard Of Honour last start and must be respected.

Selections: 4 Prompt Return, 5 Guard Of Honour, 2 Irish Constabulary, 7 Ringo’s A Rockstar

Race 7 – Guineas (1200m) She didn’t win a race during her spring carnival campaign but Champagne Cuddles has been placed at Group 1 level twice and has form around Alizee and Trapeze Artist. Whypeeo won the Mick Dittman Plate in dominant fashion. You can’t knock the winning form of Freddie Fox Trot, while Marble wasn’t disgraced behind Whypeeo. Selections: 10 Champagne Cuddles, 1 Whypeeo, 6 Freddie Fox Trot, 5 Marble

Race 8 – Hollindale (1800m) There was plenty to like about Comin Through’s run in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes and this is a genuine drop in class. 1800m is ideal. It’s Somewhat led from start to finish to win this race 12 months ago and he will have the chance to do the same thing again in 2018. Tom Melbourne is never far away in these type of races and will get a lovely run right on the speed. Oregon’s Day has raced well without winning this campaign.

Selections: 2 Comin’ Through, 1 It’s Somewhat, 3 Tom Melbourne, 11 Oregon’s Day

Race 9 – Silk Stocking (1200m) Anatola beat Test The World last start at Randwick but Test The World can turn the tables here. She makes her own luck right on the speed and should improve second-up. Modern Wonder struggles for consistency but she is capable of a high-rating run. Crystal Fountain won well at Caulfield first-up.

Selections: 3 Test The World, 5 Anatola, 12 Modern Wonder, 7 Crystal Fountain
