GOLD COAST QUADDIE

- TOM HACKETT LADBROKES

Race 5 – Class 3 Hcp (1400m) Park Chinois had no luck in running whatsoever last start and still wasn’t disgraced. He looks well-placed in this contest. Barefoot Tycoon performed well in his first race start in Queensland and will improve off that effort. It has been a while between wins for Overlap, but he is rarely far away at this level. Great Mogul comes out of a fairly strong race at the Gold Coast last start.

Selections: 2 Park Chinois, 1 Barefoot Tycoon, 4 Overlap, 6 Great Moghul

Race 6 – 3YO Hcp (1400m) Enterprise Moss doesn’t have a great overall record but this is the weakest race that he has contested in some time. Beach Drum was outclassed in the Gold Coast Bracelet and The Roses. This is a far more suitable class. Tokoriki Lad won well at Ipswich last start, while Desert Rush has raced consistently this preparation. Selections: 3 Enterprise Moss, 7 Beach Drum, 1 Tokoriki Lad, 8 Desert Rush

Race 7 – Rating 65 (1800m) There is some query over Lilakai because she failed to leave the stalls last start but before that she won in impressive fashion at Toowoomba. Mogul makes his own luck right on the speed and he maps to get a soft run. Sidero Star has been racing well without winning. Gypsy Miss has an awful winning record but has placed at three of his past four starts. Selections: 7 Lilakai, 13 Mogul, 5 Sidero Star, 9 Gypsy Miss

Race 8 – Class 1 SW (1300m) Snipstream showed plenty of ability to win on debut and has plenty of upside. Copywriter has not been far away and could peak third-up. Chavo has been freshened up and has more ability than his record suggests. Solarcraft had excuses when he failed to fire last start after being caught wide.

Selections: 8 Snipstream, 11 Copywriter, 1 Chavo, 5 Solarcraft
