SECURITY FOR JUDGE AT POLO FASHIONS

- KATE PARASKEVOS

NATALIE Decorte will be flanked by security guards at the sold-out Polo by the Sea this weekend as she wears a stunning 5.02 carat pink diamond ring.

The brand manager and former model will showcase an extremely rare Brazilian Morganite stone, which took 12 months to source and is surrounded by 88 baguette and brilliant cut diamonds.

The ring is part of the Babylon collection which took master jeweller Mark Cotterell 12 months to design and create and will be one of the stunning pieces on display at the McLaren Gold Coast Polo by the Sea event today.

“If you want to see a girl melt, show her a pink diamond,” he said.

“Getting untreated stones of this quality is extremely difficult, just the sheer beauty of it is outstanding.”

While the master jeweller would not disclose the price of the impressive piece, he said security guards would be keeping a watchful eye on the jewellery pieces – and the woman lucky enough to wear them.

Ms Decorte, whose husband is Urban Polo founder Janek Gazecki, will be one of those lucky ladies who will get to wear an exclusive piece from the collection to compliment her outfit by Hugo Boss.

The former ballerina, model, mum of three and editor-in-chief of digital magazine The Polo Project also has the task of judging the fashions on the field.

“I like when it looks like they haven’t tried too hard, there’s an understated elegance,” she said.
