GOLD COAST QUADDIE

Race 5 – Maiden (1400m) Raging Royal has been runnerup at his past two starts and gets his chance to break through here. Osmond is also not far off a maiden win with four placings from his five races, his latest being a firstup third over 1200m at Toowoomba. Sultry Testa is also in the mix after a second at Murwillumbah and Shijin will benefit from her debut fourth at the Gold Coast. Selections: 3 Raging Royal, 1 Osmond, 8 Sultry Testa, 11 Shijin

Race 6 – Class 1 Hcp (1400m) Lord Of The Dreamz was beaten less than half a length last start when second over the same course and distance and gets his chance here. Solarcraft has been around the minor prizemoney with a last start fourth at the Gold Coast. Natural Force ran his best race this campaign with a last-start third at the Sunshine Coast and French Descent also has claims.

Race 7 – Class 3 (1800m)

It is hard to go past Straight Home who is chasing a hattrick after winning his past two starts over this course and distance with apprentice Jackson Murphy in the saddle again. Only Choice is stepping up to the 1800m for the first time after a last-start win over 1400m at the Gold Coast. Travistee and Infinite Reign will have no trouble with the 1800m journey.

Race 8 – BM 62 (1200m) Floreana failed to run a place at her first run back from a spell as favourite but will strip fitter. Akage has been placed twice at her two runs since a break and should get a nice run from barrier three. Percussion won a recent Gold Coast barrier trial while Cool Mover has also trialled OK. Selections: 12 Floreana, 5 Akage, 7 Percussion, 8 Cool Mover
