WHEN STYLE GOES OUT THE WINDOW

-

BIG time on the court, Big W off it.

Rollers star Jack McVeigh has lifted the lid on the unfashionable world of the QBL, singling out US import Deon Mitchell (inset) for particular scrutiny.

In comments that could rip apart friendships in much the same way skinny leg jeans may tear on the quad of a hulking basketballer, McVeigh says the attire of his teammate is, ahem, a “work in progress”.

You could almost hear Gucci employees cringe and shop assistants everywhere say “are you serious?” as McVeigh revealed his Rollers pal is more Lowes than highs.

“Deon can’t dress,” McVeigh revealed with a straight face and no regret.

“I’ve never met a less stylish dude in my life.

“One day he showed up in ankle socks, purple shorts and a huge grey shirt.

“It was a bad, bad look and and we let him know about it.”

Thankfully for his sake, Mitchell isn’t alone.

JOHN DALY (above)

There have been more recent examples but few have owned the 1980s counch look quite like Johnny. Also wore the Trump ‘do before Mr President made it fashionable.

DENNIS RODMAN (left)

When he wasn’t grabbing boards or inking every part of his body, the former NBA star was thinking of ways to promote his new book. In 1996 he decided wearing a wedding dress to the launch would do the trick.

JORGE CAMPOS (right)

Who? Think Mexico, think goalkeeper, think absolutely no idea about colour schemes. Jorge didn’t just play at World Cups, he owned them ... in a really, really bad fashion sense kind of way.
