Spirit apartments set to offer ‘next level’ luxury

-

ANYONE wanting to buy into the Gold Coast’s newest and tallest super tower, Spirit, will need at least $1.17 million.

The $1.2 billion development was officially launched to the market yesterday with a high-profile event at Palazzo Versace.

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, Tourism Australia chairman Bob East, Federal Tourism Minister Steven Ciobo and State Tourism Minister Kate Jones were among more than 100 VIP guests treated to cocktails, finger food and a vir- tual tour of the development.

Hong Kong developer Foriseland is behind the luxury 479-apartment project, being built on Surfers Paradise Esplanade at the former Iluka site.

Foriseland marketing general manager Jason Xiao told guests at the lavish launch that the development was the largest residential project that any Chinese enterprise had ever invested in.

“This is a landmark in the history of luxurious living, a real world-class architecture artwork,” he said.

“At the centre of Surfers Paradise, towering at 303m high, this master-designed, artistically extravagant beauty will undoubtedly take deluxe living to a new level.

“(It) also will make tremendous contribution to the world’s high-end residence industry.”

Marketing agent, Ray White Projects director Julian Sutherland, said with prices starting at $1.17 million for a one-bedroom apartment, the emphasis was on designing a “new level of prestige property yet to be seen in Australia’s residential markets”.

“Spirit is the pinnacle of residential high-rise living – a generational landmark of the quality we have never seen before in Australia,” Mr Sutherland said.

The two-storey penthouse, spanning 1850sq m, comes with a price tag of $41 million, which would obliterate the Gold Coast penthouse record of $9.5 million, set at the Chevron Renaissance in January.

“The penthouse will have an incredible 628sq m of balconies and include four bedrooms, five bathrooms and an exceptional offering of four carparking spaces,” he said.

Spirit would also include two, two-storey sub-penthouses, on levels 84 and 85, priced from $24.04 million.

Other apartments are priced from $1.17 million to $14.2 million with an array of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 91sq m to 497sq m.

“The designers of Spirit have gone to extraordinary lengths to create something of distinction that will be a drawcard,” Mr Sutherland said.

“We are fielding inquiries from overseas and interstate already and we are expecting buyers who are looking to downsize from homes without sacrificing on living space.

“As such they are very competitively priced when it comes to square metre rates, being comparable to beachfront apartments in Broadbeach and considerably better value than you would expect from an apartment in some areas of Sydney and Melbourne.”

The first three floors will be retail and dining, and resident facilities include a rooftop area, infinity pool, gym and wine cellar.
