Low levels of E swell continue to hover around 1 to 2ft across exposed areas this weekend as a new, larger S swell builds in; showing at 2 to 4ft across northern NSW later Saturday ahead of a peak in size in the 4 to 5ft range on Sunday morning. Expect smaller sets wrapping at 2ft+ or so across exposed QLD beaches, grading to 1 to 2ft elsewhere and smaller inside the points and bays.

TODAY

Rising S windswell gradually supersedes fading ENE swell. Around 2ft exposed open QLD beaches. S swell rising to a larger 2 to 3ft+ across northern NSW southern exposures during the day and potentiall­y nudging 3 to 4ft into the afternoon. WIND: Early SW to 5 to 15 knots tending SSW to SE and fading during the afternoon

TOMORROW

S swell ranging from 3 to 5ft exposed northern NSW beaches early, settling during the afternoon. Mixing with slight E tradewind swell at a slow 1 to 3ft along exposed QLD beaches and down to a smaller 1 to 2ft max inside the points and bays. WIND: Early light WNW to

WSW/SW inshore tending NNE to NNW around 5 to 15 knots later.

MONDAY

Easing S swell up to 2 to 3ft+ exposed northern NSW beaches. Mixing with slight E swell at 1 to 2ft+ along exposed QLD beaches and grading to a smaller 1ft+ inside the points and bays. WIND: WNW 5 to 15 knots early, tending variable to light N/NW during the afternoon.

TUESDAY

Leftover S swell mixing with background E swell. Ranging from 1 to 3ft exposed northern NSW coasts, grading to 1 to 2ft exposed southern QLD breaks and down to 1ft or less inside the points and bays. WIND: Early light W tending light N during the afternoon.

WEDNESDAY
