WONDER WALL: ALL THIS AND MORE FOR $6.98M
FANCY a multi-milliondollar mega mansion with an underground entertainment den, wellness centre and vertical garden?
A lavish Sovereign Islands house with all the bells and whistles expected of a prestige property has hit the market with a hefty $6.98 million price tag.
Owner Roger Noble said the six-bedroom, sevenbathroom home was designed to represent a new level of luxury on The Sovereign Islands.
He bought the vacant block in late 2016 after years of living in the area with his family.
Originally from Sydney, the developer drew inspiration from several buildings he had seen during his career and worked with an architect to bring the design to life.
“There’s a lot of inspiration ... but we didn’t want to just replicate what they do,” he said.
Among the mansion’s standout features is an underground “grotto”, which has a wellness centre incorporating a massage room, bathroom and Sawo Scandia sauna.
The “garden wall” at the front of the house is also an unusual feature.
“It serves two purposes – it obviously looks good but it also filters the western sun,” Mr Noble said.
“It’s fully irrigated and low maintenance.
“Each pot has got a little irrigation pipe in it so it just automatically waters (itself).”
Eventually, he said, the plants would cascade down the wall, hiding it.
Despite the home’s novelty features, Mr Noble assured it was more than just “a trophy house”.
“Our brief to the architect wasn’t to do something out there. It was to have something eye-catching and really liveable,” he said.
He was proud of the result but said living in it had never crossed his mind.
“We’ve learnt very early on – you don’t fall in love with a project,” Mr Noble said.
