JASPER’S FASHION TASTE IS OFF THE CHAIN

- AMANDA ROBBEMOND

AS soon as Jasper hears the rustle of the box being pulled out from under the bed, he runs over.

But it’s not food he’s running to, or even affection from his family – it’s his dress-up box.

Owner Sacha Thomson said the long-haired mini foxy-cross was “too cute” not to dress up. And luckily, he absolutely loves it.

He’s been everything from a unicorn, to an elf to a cheerleader.

The Mudgeeraba resident said she and her two children, Skye, now 12, and Brock, 15, fell in love with Jasper as soon as they spotted him three years ago as a puppy.

Now the adorable fourlegged dog is their pint-sized guardian, wannabe soccer star and all-round lapdog.

Ms Thomson said while the tenacious pup hated water, he would brave the waves at the beach if the children were swimming.

“It’s funny, unless the kids go in (the water), he won’t go near it,” she said.

“He’ll go in so he can see the kids, he has a need to protect them. But you can see it on his face, he looks mad about it.”

She said Jasper was not only cute, but sporty too and loved chasing a soccer ball around even though it was as big as himself.

Jasper could very well be in the running for the Gold Coast’s Cutest Pet Competition if Ms Thomson sends in a photo of him looking his most adorable.

Entries are judged on the most interesting and creative photos showing how cute your pet is.

The winner will receive one year’s supply of dog or cat food and an AusPet prize pack valued at more than $1800. There will also be three runners-up. Entries are open to all pet species.
