Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin - - NEWS -

Malcolm Turnbull said ex PMs should stay out of the parliament, so he’s only sticking his nose in from New York. Spits it like Serena, tweets it like Trump, all he’s missing is a black tutu and a little bleach. Bruce, Murwillumbah.

Well it didn’t take long for the whingers to surface about having to go out of their way for a couple of days for the World Triathlon Champs. Notices and signage have been up for over two weeks but still people can’t change their schedule to accommodate a world class event. Yes I am locked in for four days but have made adjustments to accommodate for this major event. Chill out

Hard to believe what I’m reading!! 15 students at Palm Beach State School have contacted whooping cough! I hope he anti vax people hang their head in shame!! They should be made to home school their ”at risk” children. KM

Isn’t it amazing. when Serena Williams is winning she is all miss nice guy BUT when losing oh boy a massive dummy spit. Also how would she react if Carlos Ramos abused her the way she did him. regardless of colour or creed her display was disgusting. But to my mind the Japanese girl who created history by being the first Japanese player to win a great tournament had it all taken away from her by what can only be described as a spoiled brat tantrum. Loved the cartoon too, it was spot on. PC

There is no town in Australia that has two casinos so why do we need two on the Gold Coast? Barney

If all of these wonderful events which overrun the GC bring in so many millions of dollars as we are led to believe then why do our rates keep rising and the GCCC claim they can’t afford to fix the ailing infrastructure. A few make millions while the locals have to put up with all the crap. Mickey H

It is inconceivable that the council would have even have thought about giving away / selling irreplaceable land like Carey Park to developers of any kind. I say give away because no price can be put on land like that. I can still remember the old Southport Showground. Once it is gone its gone for ever.

Find it sad that all the witnesses to the woman hit by a car in Nerang st Tuesday night didn’t call police or try to help her. Bulldog

Just back from road trip to Canberra. Amazing that the council there has foresight to allow graffiti at authorised sights ie under bridges and along bike paths- certainly brightens up the drab concrete. All the places have a sign on them saying - AUTHORISED GRAFFITI AREA. So Gold Coast council have a think about it. Some of the artwork there is amazing. P, Elanora

I saw the footage of the cyclist that almost got hit by a truck and I believe the fine the truck driver got was appalling. If anyone should have been fined it surely should have been the cyclist. Riding a pushbike on a two way single lane road without a bike lane in the rain is just plain stupid. Where was the truck driver supposed to go? Should he have merged toward on coming traffic in the rain even if he actually saw the cyclist in dull natural light as he was trying to control a large vehicle on a narrow road. That cyclist is what every car or truck driver calls a pain in the bum. Treeman

Re the ABC 7.30 program Thurs night. Businesses will go to the wall in Burleigh and right along the proposed light rail route. Note the Sydney experience and be afraid. Be very afraid. Palm Beach next.

Looks like PM Morrison is running the country as a church, trying to send MP Banks to NY to keep her quiet. She was too honourable for that unlike the PM.

Developer bans cats in new suburb - how stupid. If everyone who owned cats kept them inside at all times then there would not be a problem. I have 2 of them, they have a kitty litter and never go out. They are happy and healthy as indoor cats. Amira

Women are changing society and the world. They’re teaching little girls to stand up and speak. Don’t follow the rules you can do what ever you want. And look at the pathetic little brats they’re creating. Dave

Magpie swooping season has started. Don’t worry everyone it is September and they get the Colliwobbles this month. We are all safe. Geoff.

Just spent 10 days in GCUHospital getting a major reconditioning on my heart. What angels they are each and everyone. My Love to them all in ICU and cardiac ward. Graham Auty

The brat who won’t stand for the anthem. Get out of Australia. Take your small minded parents with you. Try the arctic. There’s no anthem there. And lots of indigenous to stand up for. You could champion the Inuits rights. Just make sure you don’t advance the arctic fair, or try to make it a better place. Dave
