Well it didn’t take long for the whingers to surface about having to go out of their way for a couple of days for the World Triathlon Champs. Notices and signage have been up for over two weeks but still people can’t change their schedule to accommodate a world class event. Yes I am locked in for four days but have made adjustments to accommodate for this major event. Chill out

Isn’t it amazing. when Serena Williams is winning she is all miss nice guy BUT when losing oh boy a massive dummy spit. It is inconceivable that the council would have even have thought about giving away / selling irreplaceable land like Carey Park to developers of any kind. I say give away because no price can be put on land like that. I can still remember the old Southport Showground. Once it is gone its gone for ever.

Just back from road trip to Canberra. Amazing that the council there has foresight to allow graffiti at authorised sights ie under bridges and along bike paths- certainly brightens up the drab concrete. All the places have a sign on them saying - AUTHORISED GRAFFITI AREA. So Gold Coast council have a think about it. Some of the artwork there is amazing. P, Elanora

I saw the footage of the cyclist that almost got hit by a truck and I believe the fine the truck driver got was appalling. If anyone should have been fined it surely should have been the cyclist. Riding a pushbike on a two way single lane road without a bike lane in the rain is just plain stupid. Where was the truck driver supposed to go? Should he have merged toward on coming traffic in the rain even if he actually saw the cyclist in dull natural light as he was trying to control a large vehicle on a narrow road. That cyclist is what every car or truck driver calls a pain in the bum. Treeman

Developer bans cats in new suburb - how stupid. If everyone who owned cats kept them inside at all times then there would not be a problem. I have 2 of them, they have a kitty litter and never go out. They are happy and healthy as indoor cats. Amira
