A $7 MILLION mansion at Sanctuary Cove has been crowned as the best house in Queensland.

Gold Coast construction company DTL Constructions won big at the Master Builders state awards overnight, taking out the major prize for House of the Year, as well as Individual Home over $2 million and Best Residential Bathroom.

The property, Villa Florentine, cost $7 million for land and build and has an estimated sale price of $10 million.

Built for international clients with property in Europe and the Pacific, the luxurious 1540sq m home offers a sophisticated European design that includes light-filled spaces of marble, stone and glass.

Generous, arched windows capture the water features and pool area, surrounded by gardens and landscaping. DTL Constructions owners, brothers Darren and Lloyd Teasdale, said they had never been involved with awards until their clients encouraged them to do so with this project.

“Every project we work on we treat as if it was our own,” Darren Teasdale said.

“I’ve never gotten involved with awards but the client was just so over the moon with how it came out, they encouraged us to go for it.”

Gold Coast companies and projects won 10 of the 61 awards on the night.

Other winners included Education Facilities over $10 million, won by ADCO Constructions for Southern Cross Uni; Sporting Facilities, won by Hansen Yuncken for Carrara Sports Precinct Projects; Residential Building up to $20 million, won by Stokes Wheeler for Main Beach Apartments; and Industrial Building up to $5 million, won by Clarke’s Project Management for Tekno Auto Racing.
