DIP A TOE IN COOL WATERS OF BUSKING

-

GET ready to be amazed as the fifth annual Buskers by the Creek begins in Currumbin this weekend.

This time around the event brings more than 300 local, national and international performers including acrobats, magicians and every kind of musician you can think of.

They’ve coloured this year’s event with a unique carnivale flair as roaming dancers and dazzling Brazilian acts delight crowds.

Event director and founder Cindy Jensen wants everyone to know the diversity and talent found in the busking scene worldwide.

“Buskers by the Creek is about showcasing the undiscovered talent

and providing an opportunity at a large-scale event for people just starting out in their career,” she said.

“With a total of 16 stages, there could be folk on one stage and punk on another, so there is something for everyone. We find people come to the event and don’t want to leave.

“Attendees are asked to dig deep and tip the incredible entertainers throughout the amazing, two-day extravaganza with acts being paid solely through the loose change and generosity of the crowds.”

Let the kids enjoy circus acts and arts and crafts at the Karma Kids’ Zone while you explore the rest of the park to see everything from contortionists to Brazilian dancers.

Dig around for that spare change and bring your friends for a day of unlimited entertainment.
