HIGH FIVE TO BEING A MUM

- CHANTAY LOGAN chantay.logan@news.com.au

SHE was queen of the kids in her Hi-5 days, but motherhood is a whole new world for Broadbeach personality Charli Robinson.

The Getaway host and her racing driver partner Liam Talbot have opened up to Gold Coast Eye about getting to know new daughter Kensington Claire.

“I think it took me a couple of days to sink in that we actually had her,” Robinson said.

“We’d told her so many times we couldn’t wait to meet her – Liam would say it to my tummy. I think we said it too much.

“I don’t think we were prepared for how much more emotion you feel.

“For a while, crying was all I did, crying over nothing.

I was happy and the tears were still coming.”

Talbot is back training for the start of the racing season – his first race is the Superloop Adelaide 500 later this month – but he opens “the daddydaughter day spa” every afternoon.

“It’s very easy bonding for me to do,” he said of bath time. “Then she falls asleep on my chest and we have a little doze.”

The Gold Coast Bulletin can claim a small part in Kensington’s arrival, with Robinson giving this newspaper the credit for sparking her romance with Liam back in 2016.

Within 48 hours of sitting down to talk about single life, the Coast’s under-the-radar bachelor asked her out.

“The (Bulletin) can totally claim bringing us together because it literally happened once we did the story,” the former SeaFM breakfast host said at the time.
