COAST PARTY CENTRAL
A boutique hotel and a swanky yacht are turning into the venues of choice for those wanting to turn it on and let their hair down
TWO new venues have been making a name for throwing the hottest parties on the Gold Coast.
The Pink Hotel, in Coolangatta, has seen hundreds of influencers party it up at their 18-bedroom hotel with a rooftop bar since opening in November.
Instagrammer Tammy Hembrow, 24, was the first to throw a big party, inviting 100 of her friends to promote the 10th launch of her activewear label Saski Collection. The Abrand Denim label followed in her footsteps weeks after.
One of four owners of
The Pink Hotel, Claes Loberg says their intention was never for it to be a party venue but it’s been a nice surprise.
“The purpose of the hotel has not been for a party hotel. It kinda’ just ended up that way,” he says. “We’ve been asked to do more events but we have said no.
“We are working with some brands to do more events but they have to book out the whole hotel.”
Also flooded with bookings has been the multi-million-dollar vessel YOT Club which opened in mid-January.
Thousands of people have got on board to celebrate events on the swanky high-end boat, with one of the first being Sea FM throwing their So GC party.
The owners David Fisher and Grant Wharington wanted to bring something different to the Coast’s party scene and it has been a raging success with Fisher telling ATG: “We’re getting a lot of inquiries from private and corporates wanting events in bigger numbers.”
Their first public party called Endless Summer is on today. Tickets can be purchased on their website.
The Pink Hotel will be coming alive again at the next party hosted by Volcom, for the Quiksilver Pro on April 7.
