ROY Grace, if you had read my letter properly you would realise I was not complaining about the Black Caps’ loss but the idiot who said he/she was proud of Australia’s victory gained by the ball that was bowled underarm. Johnno

I agree with Mr J Davidson’s view that the Jewel architecture is unattractive and out of place against the Gold Coast clean fresh beachfront backdrop. Council approval members definitely got this one wrong!

Qld Deputy Premier Jackie Trad’s secretive purchase of a $695,500 cottage along the route of the planned $5.4 billion Cross River Rail that will likely rise in value is a reminder of when Joh Bjelke-Petersen and good old Russ Hinze bought land on North Stradbroke Island and then announced the National Party was going to build a bridge accross Moreten Bay to North Straddie which sent their newly bought land sky high in value. Who said Joh and Russ were crooks, all politicians do the same. Ken W

I’m switching codes, not listening to the insincere crap of Eddie McGuire anymore, it should have been ousted after it’s first weak comment against the vulnerable, like ex-players and fans who get sacked, charged and barred. NRL here I come.

It seems to me drivers either don’t know how to use their indicators or don’t know they have them! Charlie

‘Earl Haven crisis no time for political points scoring’ says Angie Bell MP for Moncrieff (GCB, 19/7) ... well then Angie it’s really rather simple, don’t write to the paper seeking to score political points. Sheridan Whitehead

It may be an idea if the Titans concentrated on their football and left their social commitments until the end of the season. Barney

I find it incredibly disrespectful for women in cricket to think they have the right to play an ‘Ashes’ Test. Make your own traditions girls. Don’t go riding along on the men’s history. Dave

To Ken Johnson, I wasn’t talking about the Grasshopper’s physical appearance, it was the way the cockroach teams hated it when they played Queensland teams. Dave D

With regards to the 50 charge by body corp to let u back in your unit, we have an onsite manager who charges nothing, a previous manager charged 50. If u have an onsite manager I would talk to him about why he charges it , if u don’t I would write an email to the body corp and ask them to explain why they charge u. You could then ask that a motion be put forward to have the charge removed and that it be voted on by all owners.

Freshwater Point resident, always someone else to blame for one’s stupidity. If you were locked out of your house and needed a locksmith you’d pay more than the 50 fee you were charged for the mistake you made – called responsibility.

So the Developers (read money hungry clowns) say their survey says that only one Koala is likely to inhabit the area ... what a load of rubbish. I am in Doubleview Dve and have two in a tree at the edge of my block. Just go away and destroy somewhere else in your greed for money.

Would like to say a big thank you to the staff at Tweed City for all their help when my handbag was stolen from my shopping trolley. I look at it as a loser winning the day as I ran around like a chook with my head cut off cancelling cards worried how I’d get home as my car keys, phone etc in the bag. Thank goodness an hour or so later they found it dumped near the PO. Everything there except $160 which being a pensioner was my food for two weeks. However they did leave 10. Thoughtful. Kris

So these people in Currumbin Valley claim the yowie not only appeared in their back yard but came back the next day, yet not one photo, no video footage, nothing. You realise it’s illegal to smoke that stuff don’t you? Woodleigh

RE Yowie: As I have said in a previous text, sasquatch are sentient beings who are very connected to nature. They are not out attacking people and it’s only people’s own fear that create a bad image. Why do you think they have remained hidden for so long? Because they haven’t wanted to be found, until now. Zane

OK so the Christian siblings in Tassie who don’t think they should pay taxes should be told they can’t use the roads, telephone services, water supplied by the state nor any other service provided by the state or federally funded.

Thus the manufactured teams like Titans and Suns will continue bleeding money for decades to come unless there are mergers with established clubs from the south or move to Brisbane. The choice is theirs.

Irrespective of where you came from, be it NZ or Timbuktu, if you do the crime you go back there. Absolutely no excuses. Doug
