SHE has been dubbed the world’s best contortionist so when it came to relocating to the Gold Coast from Las Vegas, Jordan McKnight was pretty flexible.

The award-winning performer has been signed on for a role at the soon-to-be-opened The Pink Flamingo, in Broadbeach.

SHE has been dubbed the world’s best contortionist and is relocating to the Gold Coast from Las Vegas for a residency at the Glitter Strip’s new cabaret venue.

The Pink Flamingo, launching in Broadbeach on August 22, has signed on Las Vegas-based Jordan McKnight for 12 months, ATG can reveal.

The award-winning performer, whose credits include Cirque Du Soleil, is noted for a wide-ranging repertoire – she can back bend, front bend, dislocate body parts, twist into seemingly impossible positions and balance on her hands.

“I’ve been training contortion since I was 12. I’ve always been naturally flexible but I’ve worked on my flexibility to gain the amount that I have today,” she says.

“As my mum tells me, when she would hold me as a baby, I would bend back over her arm – for a mental image think of a towel rack,” she laughs.

An America’s Got Talent performance left judges including Drew Barrymore gasping in disbelief, but McKnight says: “I don’t and never have had any injuries. I’ve worked on my control and strength to protect my body.”

Pink Flamingo, pitching itself as a cabaret theatre and the world’s first Spiegelclub, is the brainchild of veteran nightclub figure Tony Rigas and entertainment producer Sue Porrett. McKnight is one of 15 cast and will perform seven shows weekly.

Porrett says Pink Flamingo promised to canvass the globe for the best talent for debut show Sauvé.

“Jordan is an international contortionist extraordinaire who has featured in revered productions.”

McKnight, who has graced stages in Russia, Spain and France says: “Las Vegas is my home, however when Sue approached me about a permanent 12-month contract on the Gold Coast for their debut show, l couldn’t turn it down. The Gold Coast is simply amazing.”
