Koreans lead the way but check the ute deals, too

HYUNDAI

Hyundai is advertisin­g slick discounts on its range of SUVs. The base Hyundai Kona Go can be had for $25,990 drive-away with a further $1000 bonus taking it down to $24,990, which adds up to a saving of more than $2000. The bigger Tucson Active X is even better value with the 2020 model year significan­tly discounted. The diesel powered version is more than $5000 cheaper at $38,990 drive-away. If you want further savings look at a 2019 plated model priced at $38,290, also with a further run-out bonus of $1000.

KIA

Hyundai’s sister brand Kia has sharp savings on its small cars. An automatic Cerato S costs $21,990 drive-away, which is about $5500 cheaper than usual. There are significan­t savings on the whole Cerato range. A base Rio hatch in manual guise is priced from $16,990 drive-away, a saving of more than $3000. Switching to an auto version will add a $1000.

FORD

Ford still has some 2018-plated Ford Ranger XLTs in stock and appears highly motivated to get them off its books. The Blue Oval has a manual XLT dual-cab advertised for $49,990 drive-away, which is about $12,000 off the price of this year’s version. Ford is further sweetening the deal with a 2.9 per cent finance. Ford’s seven-seat Everest SUV has had prices slashed. A 2019 four-wheel drive Trend with a 3.2-litre diesel can be had for $60,990 drive-away, about $4000 off. Ford is also throwing in five years’ free scheduled servicing, valued at about $2500.

TOYOTA

A base version of the all-wheel drive Toyota Kluger family SUV can be had for $48,990 drive-away. This is more than $4000 off the regular price. There are similar deals on all the four-wheel drive Kluger versions. The Japanese brand is also looking to shift some 2018 plated Corollas by offering a 2.9 per cent comparison rate on some petrol and hybrid versions.

HOLDEN

There is good value to be found on an automatic 2019 Holden Colorado 4x4 LTZ dual-cab ute with the red lion brand cutting the price by more than $7000 to $49,990 driveaway. The deal includes three years’ free servicing, valued at more than $1000. Holden still has some 2018-plated Astra hatches that represent sharp value. An RS hatch can be had for $25,990 drive-away, which is more than $4500 off the full price.

VOLKSWAGEN

The German maker has slashed the price of its base Trendline Golf hatch. Buyers can expect to pay $24,990 drive-away for a manual, or about $4000 off. Auto adds $2000. VW is even discountin­g its popular Golf GTI hot hatch, which is going for $47,990 drive-away instead of the usual $51,155.
