Proposal in Friday Bulletin about new bridge across to Main Beach etc and changes to existing roads. What about 2lane flyover from yacht club rd on to nothern lanes of GC Highway. No lights to hold up traffic from Spit. Just merge into lanes going north. Sure it can be done and no traffic lights must make traffic flow better.

Trump is still US President. ScoMo is still PM. BoJo is UK PM. But “our” ABC is still in denial. Shut it down. Sack the staff. Burn the buildings. Salt the earth. Shano

I’ve been reading the Bulletin for many years. What I can’t understand is the excellent ideas brought up in the chatroom that are completely ignored by politicians & councillors. Believe me, they need all the help they can get. Daks

D.J. FRASER, use your brain and not your one Labor-loving eye. DJB.

Good to see the Queensland Government has their priorities right coughing up $10 million for an Olympic games bid while we still wait in traffic on the M1 between Varsity Lakes and Coolangatta every day. Terry

Celebrated two birthdays at the Jungle Mexican restaurant Cooly on Thurs night, great food/service. Big thanks to Craig/ Jess and staff. If you haven’t eaten there, do yourself a flavour. Col /Ri, Tugun

Dear Fed and KM. How dare you generalise! I am single, own my own home, and can not find a man of quality to save myself. SMG

Solo KL, your Pommies NEVER cheated when applying sunscreen AND mint spit on to ball in previous Ashes series? YES they did, as proven by their own flippant admissions. Exocet.

To extremely misguided doofus about motor cycle racing on GC. Labor is currently in power so blame those imbeciles. LNP has NO say. DJB.

Best thing about Brexit uncertainty is the value of the pound falling. Means fewer of those yellow paper waving morons in Birmingham will be able to afford the flight to infect our cricket stadiums next time around. Reg

C’Mon DJ give us a break. If anyone’s fallen out of the cuckoo’s nest it would have to be you. Vern S

So-called climate change in America, the world’s most powerful nation, is a piddling issue which the vast majority scoff at. How come we here are so gullible and economically suicidal! God, give us our own Trump to rule with sanity and sympathy.

When is the Chamber of Commerce, Council and all level of governments going to clean up the homeless and mental health problem in the Southport CBD. It’s a disgrace and has clearly got out of hands there are people sleeping on the streets, drug deals done all over the CBD in broad daylight and many of the homeless are drinking in public with police and security turning a blind eye. Many people are refusing to dine and do business in the CBD because of it. James, Southport business owner

KM a good women. I married one but these days they are few and far between. I feel sorry for the young blokes of today and more sorrow for the young women who deny themselves a good and happy life with all their demands. Mr MF

Motomadness, if you had a MotoGP in Surfers it would end up being a bloodbath as there are no run-off areas. Think about it. Dave D

MotoGP in downtown Surfers would be spectacular but I’m taking my kids. Google ‘Isle of Man Time Trial’ for an idea of the carnage. Deaths among riders, marshalls and spectators almost every year.

Great stuff Dave Gilmour, GCB 2/8. Giving OUR land away to benefit our kids’ future is a total failure of any Government. Dick

George “crocodile tears” Calombaris, I for one won’t be eating at your empire made of greed and dishonesty. KJ

Hot Tomato quiz on Friday was a joke. Giving a young girl a Woodstock question from the 60s. You’re not Gold FM. Give the poor girl the 1000. GK

Jason, Main Beach, Chatroom, Aug 2, I agree there should be a rule about changing lanes, but not just for bridges, for all multi-laned roads. I see it every time I drive on the M1, most coming from the outside lane to the exit lanes, especially at the Smith St exit. A little planning and forethought for one’s journey goes a long way. Ole Cynical Bugger

One way to stop all developers going bust and still living the high life. Make them fund there own projects. No more off the plan buying then sell at market price when completed. Then buyers know what there getting and can move in straight in.

Love him or hate him there is no doubt Andrew Bolt always takes a swing and hits the nail right on the head. He really cuts to the core of the matter and tells it as it is every time. No B/S. Grannie Annie, Nerang
