Virtually flat. Chances for a slight uptick in directiona­l south swell across northern NSW towards 1 to 2ft+ in the afternoon, otherwise flat elsewhere. WIND: WNW 5 to 15 knots, tending Westerly and freshening to 15 to 25 knots later.

TOMORROW:

Virtually flat under strong westerly winds. Far northern NSW: Chances for slight, directiona­l south swell up to 1 to 2ft across south-facing breaks, near-flat elsewhere. Southern Qld: Flat. WIND: WNW, Westerly 15 to 25 knots, tending WSW during the late afternoon.

MONDAY:

Good potential for large southerly swell rising steadily throughout the day. Far northern NSW: Around 2 to 3ft+ along south-facing breaks in the morning and increasing to 3 to 4ft+ during the day, possibly bigger in the afternoon. Wrapping at lower levels elsewhere with size depending on exposure. Southern Qld: SSE swell wraps up to 1 to 2ft+ along exposed beaches, grading to tiny/near-flat elsewhere. WIND: Westerly, WSW 5 to 15 knots, tending lighter SE to ESE in the afternoon.

TUESDAY:

Mid period SSE groundswel­l fills in. Far northern NSW: Sets ranging 4 to 6ft across south-facing breaks, easing in the afternoon. Ranging from 2 to 5ft along open beaches with size depending on exposure. Southern Qld: Ranging from 2 to 3ft along exposed open breaks, grading to 1 to 2ft along the points and inside bays. WIND: WSW to SW 5 to 15 knots, tending to light SE, Easterly sea-breezes in the afternoon.

WEDNESDAY:

Easing SSE groundswel­l. Far northern NSW: Clean 3 to 4ft+ sets across south-facing breaks, easing in the afternoon. Grading to 2 to 3ft+ along open beaches with size depending on exposure. Southern Qld: Wrapping at 2 to 3ft along exposed open breaks, grading to 1 to 2ft along the points and inside bays. WIND: SW to SSW 10 to 15 knots, tending Southerly, SSE in the afternoon.
