Immediate start on mini-city

-

WORK will start immediately on four towers in a $1.3 billion mini-city after getting the green light this week from the Gold Coast City Council.

Early works are under way on Sunland Group’s $250 million The Lanes Residences project on the corner of Bermuda St and Hooker Blvd, Clear Island Waters.

The Lanes Residences, which will include two 10 and 12-storey towers, will be launched to the market in early 2020.

Each of the buildings will have between 70 and 80 apartments, with a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom luxury units and penthouses.

“The Lanes Residences combines leading architecture with retail, lifestyle and leisure amenities of an unprecedented scale,” Sunland managing director Sahba Abedian said.

“The buildings will link to the future retail village at The Lanes and feature their own ground level retail and commercial spaces, as well as extensive resident amenities.

“Each building will capture lakefront, city skyline, and Hinterland views.

“The Lanes retail village will also be launched next year and will become a vibrant destination incorporating cafes and restaurants, a fresh-food market hall, wellbeing services, leading early learning centre, office space, and a lakeside green for family-friendly community events.”

Sunland first unveiled the project last December and revamped its plans in June.

The number of units increased from 298 to 310 because an extra six units each will be added to the larger towers. Plans for four stand-alone commercial buildings were scrapped.
