THE same old shopping woes we hear about at this time every year. Why not work out how much you can comfortably afford before you go shopping and then pick up your ‘bargains’ without exceeding your limit. I think these socalled sales are there to get us to buy many things that nobody really wants. Shopping hater bloke

What a joke this Kate Jones is. She says the new Helensvale North station will be bolstered by 174 spaces, however, she could not say how many. She is not capable of anything. Broadwater Boy

One of these days if we are lucky we will hear a greenie say “yes drill for more oil and then cap it off for our future use” and look at how many jobs it would create. All this greenie crap about electric cars is absolute rubbish. They proved their stupidity when the Greens senators said the drought and bushfires were the results of climate change. Oh well at least these Greens keep us amused with their weird beliefs. Hey Ken, keep giving it to them mate. I love to read the poor old greenies responses. Joe local courier.

Suggest the lady with the ‘bird lady’ neighbour should blow up a large paper bag then explode them each and every feeding time and after a short time they will not return ... try it. Doug

Sydney drivers come from an overpopulated termite nest rife with aggression-causing drugs. Hence, the shoulder-charge driving style. Norm

Happy for our Mayor for having had a ‘golden year’. Wishing him many more and best wishes for a third term. Rosi Shenko

So after building a mess of a intersection at Hope Island years ago, the same is to be built at Bermuda St and the M1. Obviously the same guy is designing this one too

Until the govt gets permanent water to the bush nothing will change. They have ignored the elephant for 50 years too long hoping it will rain and solve the problem for them ... it won’t. Ron Radley

What lousy advice from Shaun Cunneen preaching the greenie method of power to the homes by using solar panels. A year before we sold up in Vic we had a huge storm and every solar panel was wrecked by hail and a lightening strike as well as hundreds of other homes. I will never have solar panels installed on my home roof again. That is a huge attraction for lightening strikes and hail damage. You greenies can shove your power saving

advice up where the sun don’t shine. Tony Smith, Mermaid Beach

Here we go again another greenie critics who think they know everything and this time it’s Shaun Cunneen. It appears to be a competition between Jim Taylor and Shaun Cunneen who can outdo each other with their arrogant criticism of others. I am totally disgusted in both. Elaine retired teacher

I don’t see where the rail line will go. I suppose that will be another 250 million to do that after the intersection is built Dave D

To disgusted Palm Beach, let us reflect on your brilliant question ... why do they allow water mining during drought? Ummmm (thinking music) ... No, nothing coming to me yet. Not disgusted and still trying to sort out this conundrum.

Pure. Have you ever heard the shite music that is played at those festivals? Have to have a pill to put up with it.

Surely the Titans haven’t forgotten what happened to previous one million dollar players. The fact remains the Gold Coast is a holiday destination and most people see it as such. Barney

Peter Campion, your letter on 29/11 is unnecessarily personally offensive. By the way the human brain’s energy source is exclusively glucose. Glucose doesn’t come out of meat. Quizzbird

All you Prince Andrew knockers, come on give the poor man a break. All he did was to call on friend Jeffrey and ladies for afternoon tea and behaved impeccably.

A simple solution to boat and caravan parking in the streets like Oatlands Esp at Runaway Bay is to put a 2 hr parking restriction on just one day of the week like a Wednesday. This allows short stays but forces owners to move their van/boat once a week. An inconvenience if you plan on leaving it on the road for long periods of time and maybe enough for the owner to find suitable storage. David R

Haven’t the Gold Coast Titans learned their lesson? Latrell Mitchell will turn into another Jarryd Hayne. Leave well alone.

Ha Ha Haaa, I knew it, as soon as they took the cane out of schools it was all going to go to s#*t. Kev, Helensvale

Oh no! Snow will disappear, fire season will increase and hotter days in Victoria. That means more blow-ins to the GC and more hi-rises in Palm Beach to house them. LMAO! Johnbrew
