TODAY: Mix of slight NE windswell and tiny East swell under continued northerlie­s. Tending at around 1ft+ at the most exposed open beaches, tinier elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: NNW, tending Northerly 10 to 20 knots, freshening to 15 to 25 knots in afternoon.

TOMORROW: Short period NNE windswell under sideshore NW to Northerly windflow up to 1 to 2ft across exposed breaks, more like 1ft or less elsewhere depending on exposure. WIND: NNW 10 to 20 knots tending Northerly 15 to 25 knots, NNE in the afternoon.

MONDAY: Short period NNE windswell continues at a junky 1 to 2ft across exposed breaks, more like 1ft+ elsewhere. WIND: Early NW to NNW 15 to 25 knots, freshening before tending WNW to Westerly during the afternoon.

TUESDAY: NE windswell rapidly fades. Around 1 to 2ft along exposed open beaches early, dwindling to 1ft or less in the afternoon. Grading smaller elsewhere with size

depending on exposure. WIND: Early light WSW to SW, fading to light and variable, before tending NNE to NE and freshening to 10 to 20 knots in the afternoon.

WEDNESDAY: Good potential for directiona­l Southerly swell. Far northern NSW: Up to 2 to 3ft+ south facing beaches, grading to 1 to 3ft along open beaches with size depending on exposure. Southern Qld: infrequent 1 to 2ft exposed Qld beaches, tiny elsewhere. WIND: Early lighter WSW to SSW inshore, tending SSE to SE, then ESE 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon, East to NE in the evening.

THURSDAY: Southerly swell continues, speculativ­ely rebuilding. Far northern NSW: Around 2 to 3ft south facing beaches, more like 2ft along open beaches with size depending on exposure. Southern Qld: Infrequent 1 to 2ft exposed Qld beaches, tiny elsewhere. WIND: Early light WNW to WSW 5 to 10 knots, tending NE 10 to 15 knots.
