Owning and operating as many businesses as you do could make other people’s heads explode. How do you keep such a calm and happy demeanour?
A
That is what you have to do, stay calm. I have always been that way. I won’t raise my voice. I get excited if you don’t do it calmly. You can’t do it. There are not a lot of people in the world who can run big businesses. When people have to handle too many other people they are stuffed. I have to handle 20,000 of them.

What is your secret to handling all the people, egos and businesses?
A
There is only one way to do it. You have to put it into boxes all over the place and make people in charge of each. If one isn’t working, you need to move them and get another. If it’s working then I’ll give you the world’s greatest opportunity. I’m looking for superstars all the time. I am trying to find people who are extraordinary, not average.

What are the qualities you look for in superstar staff?
A
The most important things are high energy levels, a very strong personality, a likeable factor of nine out of 10. (If) they are ambitious and want to make something of themselves, then you have a chance. The world only has a few of them. How many people do you know who are truly fantastic at what they do? How many good bosses have you had? That is my job. I have been successfully employing quality individuals and giving them the opportunity to do wonderful things. If you do that, they repay you along the way.
