A new Sydney arrival to the Gold Coast is promising to wine, dine and pamper the ladies of the city at his swanky new Southport spot
WHEN Harvey Gebara moved to the Gold Coast from Sydney a few years ago, the intention of his seachange was to bring glitz and glamour to Southport.
He purchased two premises at the bottom of the new Meriton tower, gutted them and has now created what he describes as a “playground for women” called Boudoir Lounge.
“People ask ‘Is it a bar, a restaurant, or beauty salon?’ I say ‘No, it’s a playground’,” Gebara tells ATG.
“Women can come here and be pampered. You can get your hair done, nails done, a facial all while having a drink and being dined.”
The venue opened three weeks ago and boasts a 16ft (4.9m) floor-toceiling bar with a dining area.
There is also a beauty bar to have your hair “zhooshed” with curls or straightened, brows waxed and tinted, nails manicured and get facial treatments, he says.
Inside is splashed with gold and turquoise decor which Gebara says is inspired by his recent backpacking travels.
Asked why he chose Southport as a destination for the luxurious venue, Gebara says in his eyes the suburb is booming.
“I think Southport has been victimised by its reputation.
“This area has a lot of movement happening. I really wanted to bring not only a venue here but a new experience.’’
Gebara tells ATG a lot of people are living at Southport now.
“There’s a lot of movement and a lot happening,’’ he says.
“I always wanted to move to the Gold Coast.
“I think it’s beautiful here. “The risk factor was everyone was telling me ‘Be careful Harvey, there’s not enough people up there, you need to go somewhere busy’.”
Boudoir Lounge is open from noon to midnight daily.
