CAMPERS GET A TASTE OF PARADISE

-

THOSE who visited the first day of the Let’s Go Gold Coast Caravan and Outdoor Expo could not take their eyes off the most expensive caravan on the ground.

With $29 million worth of products at the expo, Paradise Motorhomes’ 28foot Liberation Platinum vehicle – worth $350,000 – was a clear standout.

Paradise Motor Homes sales consultant Mark Raxon said the product that includes a large leather lounge, diesel floor heating and a washing machine will sell about 20 models this year.

“There’s plenty of comfort inside, with a big C-shape lounge that can be converted into a double bed and there’s a permanent queen bed out the back,” he said.

“In regards to cooking, you have a coffee espresso machine, cook tops, a grill, a convection oven microwave and an outside barbecue, so you’re sorted in every way.”

Locals Dan and Amy Leaf spent the day at the expo with their youngest Jacob while their other three children were at school.

The family were blown away by Paradise Motor Homes’ product and said it would be great for their big family, but maybe not realistic.

“It’s a little bit out of our range but it has everything,” Dan said.

“We have a hard-floor camper trailer at the moment, we’re having a look at caravans for the next few years, seeing what we could possibly get.”

The expo will continue today from 9am-5pm and tomorrow 9am-4pm.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for concession and free for accompanied children, and are available online or at the gate.
