- RACHEL HANCOCK Gold Coast Bulletin Editor

GOLD COAST, it is time we came together. No, really came together.

As we navigate through this unprecedented crisis, we have had to adapt how we live and, most importantly, how we work. For tens of thousands on the Coast, this has meant pivoting a course to keep the course.

Everyone has been affected. Friends, brothers, sisters, mums, dads, wives, husbands, sons and daughters. Gold Coasters. No-one is immune.

Today, the Gold Coast Bulletin

launches its Taking Care of Business initiative, in which we give companies the platform to show the tenacity and fighting spirit for which we are famous.

These businesses were bustling with customers a short few weeks ago. Today, they’ve had to quickly adapt to the coronavirus crisis in order to stay viable. Whether it is your favourite coffee shop, restaurant or handyman, the friendly service is still there, just not as we are used to.

Each day goldcoastbulletin.com.au will highlight, for free, businesses that have turned to new ways of doing what they do best. We will also showcase inspiring tales of Coasters defying the odds in coming weeks, so please drop us a line at editorial@goldcoast.com.au if you have a great story to tell.

As the Gold Coast Bulletin celebrates 135 years today, we have never been prouder of our city, and its people.

Like everyone, we continue under difficult circumstances, but it is not the Gold Coast way to hide.

We are in this together. All of us. Small business, the engine room of the Australian economy, is struggling. Now’s the time to show your support.
