Cameron Caldwell a Mayor in waiting? You must be joking. We didn’t hear a peep from him for three years in his previous role as Div 3 Councillor. Donna Gates on the other hand has taken over his spot in the form of a true champion. She’d get my vote!

Hey Annastacia ... All very well to say holiday in Qld but without jobs who can afford a holiday? You’ve killed the Qld economy! Another example of Labor not understanding the reality of people’s lives. Get out of your bubble! Fan F

Sharing saliva with others by finger licking and blowing out birthday candles is socially unhygienic. GREATIE

A royal Commission into the causes of DV instead of the Sexist Feminist union mud slinging ALL men. Great idea Eloise. Doc

Re trade with China, I fully agree with MR (22/05). This is not the time to be meek and mild. They need our coal, gas and iron. They should pay tariffs in kind. In the meantime why aren’t the unions threatening to boycott China bound shipping? TK

John Z , I will always prefer to be a bogan. The best thing about the race is that whilst you are in your corporate box, we do not have to put up with snobs like you. Bogans out number you 1000 to 1. Paulie, Southport

Curly Bells is so right with his comments on Ken Wade. Stan, Tallebudgera

It’s time to break free from China. Who wants their cheap rubbish anyway. Remember, a few decades back, you’d pay whatever it cost for good quality German engineering. Well China is exactly the opposite. Their only selling point is cheap, cheap, cheap. And it all ends up on our rubbish tips. I like Rambo’s text. I too, would pay double if it was made in Aus. True blue

Went to have coffee and muffin with friend at a local cafe. We had to write our names, addresses, phone numbers, etc at counter before sitting down. That was OK but we noticed while having our coffee everyone coming in who signed, used the same pen provided and there was no sanitizer on the counter. How many germs would be on that pen do you think? What a joke these restrictions are! Burleigh pensioner

Many years ago Keith Williams jumped overboard to retrieve his schnauzer dog while at Wavebreak Island. The dog was in no danger as it

was close to shore. Soon after Mr. Williams was the recipient of a “bravery award” for his effort. Yes bravery award. In an act of defiance Mr Williams was photographed at a Main Beach restaurant with his dog to celebrate his award and he challenged the GCCC to fine him for breaching health regulations (dogs on food premises). Now we have Django who should be receiving the award but we all know the Dept of Fisheries form ... don’t we. The Archaeologist

If there are any cleaners looking for casual work and have a working with children Blue Card. Please contact any State School with your details as we are finding it hard to get replacement for permanent staff who are unable to work. School cleaner

Just finished reading about the GCCC wanting to clean up the small boats and tenders moored along Marine Pde, what a joke! The council, along with the GCWA should be concentrating on the yachts and houseboats moored around the northern and western sides of Wavebreak Island as this is becoming another Bums Bay quicker than you can say “drop the anchor”. Broadwater Boy

That’s total arrogance from Tom if he thinks he can work on his succession plan. We, the ratepayers, have that say and just because Tom has his choice and “will shepherd someone through” will not entice me to vote for them. In fact it will do the exact opposite.

Totally agree with MR’s 22.5.20 commonsense suggestion to Canberra re: our export markets. BRILLIANT!

I’m not a Stacia fan, never have been & never will be but I have become a real fan of Jeanette Young. What a knowledgeable lady. She has guided Qld through this virus better than any other and I am willing to go along with whatever she advises. We haven’t gotten rid of the virus yet and she knows that. We have just outsmarted it. Businesses could spend a lot of money to open up again and then have to close More money lost.

If only Steve Irwin was still alive, be gold to hear his take on the whale episode, Perko

Annastacia Palaszczuk is being advised by health experts on border restrictions and if in the past she had not taken their advice we would be in a lot worse position now. Barney

ABC News gives air to young lady casual who was asked to work extra hours to keep her job and get allowance. She only worked 3 shifts and didn’t want to work extra 15 hours. She is suing for unfair dismissal. What kind of generation have we created?

Why do we waste taxpayers funds with a National Cabinet when the State Premiers then go rogue & implement their own agenda, like the ridiculous Qld-NSW borders. Hypocrisy to the highest. Pedro
