WORTH ALL THE FANFARE

- JACOB MILEY

FOOTBALL fans will finally get a taste of live footy in 2020 when the AFL and NRL each open their gates to 2000 lucky spectators.

Suns fan Fin Reynolds, 10, says he will be cheering twice as loud at Metricon Stadium tomorrow after he and his dad were lucky enough to draw tickets to the clash with the Adelaide Crows.

Tegan Evert, 18, will head to Suncorp Stadium to cheer on the Titans against the Dragons this afternoon.

SUNS fan Fin Reynolds will be cheering twice as loud when he steps inside Metricon Stadium as one of the first spectators to watch live footy in months.

Fin, 10, and his dad, who are members of the Gold Coast Suns Football Club, were lucky enough to draw tickets to tomorrow’s AFL clash with the Adelaide Crows after the State Government gave the green light to have 2000 fans at Queensland stadiums.

The last time Fin watched his team play live, they won a pre-season friendly. After last weekend’s win against the West Coast Eagles, he is hoping for a similar result.

“I was happy to get tickets and I’m super excited,” said Fin, who will be donning his jersey and scarf for the game. “Usually the Metricon (Stadium) is packed but it will be really different with only 2000 people.”

Tegan Evert, 18, (right) was lucky enough to claim a ticket to the Titans’ NRL match against the St George Illawarra Dragons in Brisbane this afternoon.

“I think it will be an interesting experience. It’s not often there’s so few people in the crowd,’’ she said.

“It will just be a good time to be one of the only people watching (live).’’
