LUIK STAYS FOCUSED ON NEXT GEN

MATILDAS midfielder Aivi Luik is clearly keeping her eyes on the prize.

In a week when the Matildas star could have been celebrating the announcement that the 2023 Women’s World Cup was heading to Australia and New Zealand, she was instead giving back.

Luik attended a Gold Coast United NPLW training session to pass on tips to the next generation of stars. The takeaways, have fun and never give up!

“When I was nine I saw my first world cup. It was the Men’s World Cup of ’94 in the States. And my Swedish Mum allowed myself and my brother to get up in the wee hours of the night to watch it,” she said. “That’s when I fell in love with the game and knew I wanted to become a professional footballer.”
