THERE’S word that there won’t be international travel again until midnext year, and Victoria has gone back into lockdown.

So, what does a television travel host do when there’s no travel?

We caught up with Getaway golden girl Charli Robinson, who started her career as a member of children’s musical group Hi-5 before facebook.com/goldcoastbulletin going on to host on Gold Coast radio airwaves.

Now she’s a busy mum to Kensington, with a second bub to come very soon.

ATG: I understand Getaway isn’t being filmed at the moment due to the pandemic. What does a travel host do when there’s no travel?

“Yes, it’s been a really different twitter.com/gcbulletin time for filming. We were already going to focus on Aussie towns after the bushfires had affected so many communities but now even local stories can be tricky.

“Getaway has many stories we haven’t shown yet. For me there’s quite a lot filmed just before I was pregnant so we have loads of content.

“But truly, I miss filming. It’s a dream job and I can’t wait to get back into it.”

ATG: Speaking of travel, when it’s safe to do so again, where would you like to holiday?

“My family are in NSW so even getting to them feels like an international holiday now.

“Besides that, Fiji is definitely calling my heart again. It’s just such a happy place.”

ATG: When are you expecting bub No.2? Are you and partner supercar driver Liam Talbot ready?

“Any minute! Kensington came at 35 weeks all cooked to perfection, so we have been expecting this bubba since then.

“But seems she’s been enjoying her time and at almost 39 weeks we are ready and so excited to meet another love of our lives. with Emily Halloran

“We moved house right before the Queensland lockdown so it’s been great having time at home unpacking.

“Even the fact we couldn’t go out for dinner has been unexpectedly fun.

“I’ve learnt to cook and with Liam’s car racing all postponed, it’s been wonderful family time.”
