MONIQUE Fullerton and Ellie-Rose Bruton lap up the Nineteen at the Star rooftop pool ahead of it opening for Sunday sessions. For the first time, Nineteen partner Jackie Cross says poolside beds can be booked by non-hotel guests: “It’s reminiscent of everything you see in Europe.”

THE rooftop Sunday session is on — and Nineteen at the Star partner Jackie Cross reckons it will bring a slice of Europe to the Gold Coast weekend.

The venue on top of the Star Gold Coast’s Darling hotel has opened up for Sunday brunches and as an extra is for the first time offering locals the ability to book its poolside beds at the bar lounge.

Previously only hotel guests were able to book and use the pool beds.

It has already attracted forward bookings with Ms Cross saying half the beds – which fit four – have been booked and it’s a “first in, best dressed” basis.

Among them are Gold Coast friends Monique Fullerton and Ellie-Rose Bruton.

The pair have already nabbed a bed for this coming weekend, with Ms Bruton telling the Bulletin: “We are really looking forward to coming up to Nineteen at the Star on Sunday.

“As soon as we heard that we could swim in that beautiful rooftop pool and sip on a margarita we got the girls together and booked two day beds.

“I couldn’t think of a better way to be spending our Sunday.”

Ms Cross said the beds start from $200-$250 and include a bottle of Veuve champagne and the bookings can go noon to 6pm. She added the aim of bringing in brunches and the pool Sunday sessions was to create a flowing social Sunday.

“The whole floor at Nineteen is going to have this fun, vibrant brunch vibe going on,” Ms Cross said.

“It is reminiscent of everything you see in Europe, if you go to Mykonos, the Italian coast.

“But it’s not pool party like in Las Vegas – this is a pool club,” she said.

“We had been getting asked all the time by locals to book – it’s got to be one of the most spectacular pools."
