Family law expansion for Hickey
GOLD Coast law firm Hickey Lawyers is adding a family law offering to its long-established practice.
The move is a new venture for the firm, which has concentrated on the commercial and property law space throughout its 27-year history.
Managing partner Mark Lacy said it was a logical progression to expand into an area of law that complemented the firm’s existing practice areas.
“Hickey Lawyers has long established relationships with many of our clients and over the years we’ve been approached by some to handle their family law matters,” he said.
“However, in the past we’ve had to refer them to our peers.
“There is a natural synergy between property, commercial and family law. Most family law cases involve some sort of property settlement and/or business settlement, so it will be nice to have the ability to cater to all of our clients’ needs.”
Hickey Lawyers has appointed seasoned family lawyer Jill Wolff to head up the division, which will cover all areas of family law including divorce and separation, property settlements, parenting matters, prenuptial and binding financial agreements, mediation, and international matters.
Ms Wolff is a member of the Gold Coast District Law Association, Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland and the Queensland Law Society.
“Over the years I’ve worked with Hickey Lawyers ownerpartner Dan Marino on joint client family and property matters and I’m looking forward to combining Hickey Lawyers’ extensive expertise with my experience and passion in growing this area of the business,” Ms Wolff said.
