Escape to the water Picture-perfect pair get in the swim
GOLDEN couple Jesinta and Lance “Buddy” Franklin are enjoying a private moment aboard a superyacht sailing Sydney Harbour. Laughter is heard regularly as the couple – clearly still madly in love after four years of marriage, one child and another on the way – pose for a windswept photo shoot to appear in Escape’s inaugural Swimsuit Edition.
Living up to her reputation as one of the nicest people in the entertainment industry, Jesinta (a vision in freeflowing dresses and tousled, sun-kissed hair) is effervescent, regaling the Escape team with laugh-outloud stories.
There’s the Gold Coast childhood, their favourite family swim spots, and the time she had to dress baby Tullulah in her old doll’s clothes after their luggage got lost. “After years of travelling without losing a single bag, it felt like the Baggage Gods were finally getting their revenge,” she says, laughing.
Mostly, Jesinta is keen to share her love of Australia’s beaches. “I have a list of favourite swim spots a mile long, but we’re so lucky in Australia that if you live on the coast, a spectacular beach is only a short drive – or walk – away,” she says.
