Coke, sex drugs and $21k stash in garage

- LEA EMERY

DISGRACED mortgage broker George Boulos had at least $21,000 stashed in his garage, took money for cocaine and meth on 22 occasions, and was found with erectile dysfunction drugs.

The former high-flying businessman’s fall from grace continued on Friday when he appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court via videolink from prison.

He pleaded guilty to 27 charges in total, including 24 of possessing property suspected to be the proceeds of crime.

Boulos (pictured) wore a dark green, short-sleeved prison shirt and would occasionally write notes.

It was in stark contrast to the dark suit he wore when sentenced to five years’ prison – to be released after 14 months – in the Brisbane Supreme Court in March.

Bugged police cameras in Boulos’ Southport office caught him trafficking cocaine in 2017, occasionally trading the drug for sexual favours.

On Friday, it was revealed Boulos had more than $21,000 in his garage, believed to be from his drug business.

Police prosecutor Senior Sergeant Glenn Whittle said the surveillance tapes also captured him taking money in exchange for drugs on 22 occasions. The total amount was believed to be about $15,000.

Boulos’ lawyer Ron Behlau, of Behlau Murakami Grant Legal, said the money all related to the trafficking of cocaine Boulos had already been sentenced for.

He said that since being charged Boulos had made a number of changes. “This man has had something like 160 clean urine tests and done significant time in custody,” he said.

Magistrate Pamela Dowse convicted Boulos but he was not further punished as he had already been given time in custody for the cocaine.

In November 2019, Boulos’ company Fast Capital Pty Ltd sued the late Comanchero bikie Shane Ross, his wife Alexandra Leigh Ross and their company Monstr for $601,162.

The original Fast Capital claim in the District Court in Brisbane included the allegation Mrs Ross owed the money because she and her husband, and his clothing company Monstr, borrowed it from Fast Capital in January 2017.

In March last year Fast Capital Pty Ltd settled the case. The terms of the settlement are not known.

Shane Ross and his business partner Cameron Martin were found shot dead near Martin Shiels Park in Tallebudgera in October 2019 – a month before Boulos lodged the law suit.

Garry Brush, Brodie Jeet Singh and Nathan John Miller have been charged with their murder.

There is nothing to suggest Boulos was involved in Mr Ross’s and Mr Martin’s death in any way.
