RACE 6 – Benchmark 68 (1400m)
Smooth Move is clearly the one to beat after chasing home Mother’s Day last start. Gets a 3kg claim again and should be hitting the line hard. Petunia stuck-on well after getting caught wide last start and should get a cushier run from the better draw here. Louis January tired late after working early last start and should get an easier run from the inside draw this time. Suilven should not be underestimated dropping back from city grade.

RACE 7 – Class 1 (1100m)
Schweid As did not have the smoothest trip last start when beaten as favourite and can atone on the back of strong metropolitan form earlier this preparation. Gaelic Puzzle drifted in betting when resuming last start and did have excuses, so gets another chance. Shooting Roses only weakened late after setting the pace last start and looks to be the likely leader. Foxy Rippa bolted-in first-up at the Sunshine Coast despite covering ground.

RACE 8 – Benchmark 70 (1800m)
Riot Act is in sensational form, winning both starts since coming north by big margins and both over 1800m. Tides Of Jupiter ran second to Galaxy Belle here last start at this trip and gets the benefit of the claim. Senrima Tide will find this easier than his last start in the city and has won twice at the Gold Coast. Brilliant Concept got a much needed win last time out and can be competitive despite the big weight.

RACE 9 – 0-58 Handicap (1400m)
Purple Diamond stuck-on well to hold down third last start despite getting caught wide and should get a cosy run here. Expresso Love drops 3.5kg on her last-start narrow defeat and can go one better. Wickmo is on the quick back-up and should take up a forward position from the low draw. Daytona Danica needs a couple of scratchings to gain a start but should be in the mix after running third at the Sunshine Coast last week.
