What time do you wake up on a Saturday?

It depends if I’m feeling sleep-deprived from a week of getting up at 4:30am for breakfast radio. I don’t set my alarm and hopefully I naturally wake up in time to do a one-hour walk before hot yoga at 9.30am – otherwise I relish the rare sleep-in and get up and walk along the Esplanade.

Local coffee haunt?

Usually I will have a coffee at home “before you speak”. Long black with MCT oil, turmeric and caramel – it’s amazing! Or I’ll meet a friend for a coffee at No Name Lane, Broadbeach.

Favourite restaurant?

Rick Shores Burleigh is one of my faves for the bug rolls, a Bloody Mary and that view! Watching the waves crash and eating good food with good people is one of my favourite things to do in life. Food is life.

Favourite takeaway?

I crave the garlicky marinara pizza from Romanas Italian in Nobby Beach. They have been there forever – it’s a family-run business and the marinara pizza is so, so good.

Favourite pub/bar to catch up with friends?

It depends on my mood. I love going to Fat Freddys in Broady for the karaoke on a Saturday night (I’m the host!). The burgers and loaded fries are insane and it’s a fun way to catch up with mates. If it’s a fancy night, I can’t go past Nineteen at The Star for a cocktail on the balcony looking towards Surfers Paradise.

Best place to meet people?

I quite often catch up with girlfriends at the village markets in Burleigh. I love walking around the stalls. I’ll have a coffee and listen to incredible live music and sit in the sun on the grass. If it’s a nighttime catch-up, you really can’t go past Miami Marketta. There is live music on, a great hippie vibe and fantastic food stalls.

Where and when do you exercise?

I go to EMF Platinum at Pacific Fair Broadbeach – I’m there usually four times a week doing a dance class, reformer Pilates or my favourite, hot yoga.

Best hidden treasure in Queensland?

I love snorkelling, so the Tangalooma Wrecks, off Moreton Island. You can swim out from the beach – it’s magical. I’ve seen dolphins, dugongs and wobbegongs!

Favourite place to holiday in Queensland?

Going to Cairns was a childhood family ritual and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef is one of the highlights of my life. But lately I just love getting in my Kombi VW and travelling to one of the great caravan parks on the beach, like Cotton Tree near Maroochydore.

What’s your idea of the perfect Saturday?

I’ll wake up early feeling refreshed and do a big walk on the beach with a girlfriend, grab a coffee, have a big catch-up, then hit a yoga class. Read the paper on a blanket in the sun at the markets, possibly meeting up with some friends for a delicious lunch with ocean views and a Bloody Mary. Or if the weather isn’t great, I love going to see a Gold Class movie and having red wine and chicken wings!
