How would you describe your personal style?

Relaxed, practical and timeless.

How has your style changed over the years?

My wardrobe is now full of core pieces, not so much party pieces.

Who are your style icons?

I respect other designers such as Pierpaolo Piccioli and what he is doing at Valentino; I also try to support designers who are working sustainably and thoughtfully. The recent Council of Fashion Designers of America Award to Zendaya was well deserved, she has a great style.

What’s the oldest thing in your wardrobe?

A hand-knitted jumper that belonged to my father.

What are your favourite brands?

Bassike; and so many brands at The South Store in Bowral.

What is the most surprising thing in (or about) your wardrobe?

My wardrobe is surprising to many, it’s very tonal and larger than life.

What’s the most you have spent on an outfit?

It’s not about how much I spend, it’s about the quality.

Top three accessories you can’t currently live without?

Bracelets and rings by Fairley; Akubra Australia hat that I wear in the garden; Hunter gumboots.

What is the most sentimental item in your wardrobe?

My lace wedding dress – it’s everything. What is your style secret to transitioning from day to night?

A good jacket adds edge and confidence night and day.

If you had to wear one outfit every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Bassike pants, a white T-shirt and sneakers.

Denim or dresses? Dresses.

Heels or sneakers? Sneakers.

Is there anything in your wardrobe you have regretted throwing out? No regrets.

How many pairs of shoes do you own? Many, I have lost count!

Favourite fashion era? 1960s.
