MESSAGE OF THE DAY: Have to sing praises for doctors & nurses in Robina A&E Hospital. Had to spend 24 hrs there this week due to a severe fall from a ladder. These boys & girls are just fantastic for their professionalism & human caring, & for putting up

I agree with RAT not being free. If free they will be used willy nilly. People won’t be concerned at all & the cost to us all will be ginormous. If not free, people will only use them when really necessary.
How embarrassing. So many Australians running scared of COVID. Whatever happened to our reputation for toughness n resilience? We are breeding weak, woke, indulgent generations too heedful of fake news media and too reliant on government incompetents.
Scott Morrison and the media badgered and pressured the state and territory premiers relentlessly into opening the borders when 80% of people over 16 were vaccinated. He holds the cards with the big purse strings and the media sways public opinion. Modelling based on low case numbers when borders opened was used as justification and expert health advice was ignored. Look where we are at now.
If the sheep stopped buying RATS from price-gouging businesses the businesses would have to reduce prices or be stuck with their stock. Better still apply pressure to the government by not buying the tests at all. If the government want us to test ourselves, it could use the money it will save on free PCR tests to provide us with free RATS.
All I can say is I hope everyone affected by the massively inadequate handling of our current situation regarding close contact testing etc by our premier remember this at election time. Mr C
I'm sick of this panic buying. Took me six stores to find my fish fingers so I bought the last four boxes. BS
You cannot excuse the inexcusable. The first leader to admit opening state and territory borders was a big mistake, they
got it badly wrong and are sorry, will become the most popular leader in Australia for having the intestinal fortitude to do so, instead of making stupid lame excuses.
Hey Slab, your about as funny as a fart in an igloo.
Hey Terry K, an influencer is a creature with long legs, fish lips, blonde hair, no brain and says like all the time.
Nick Belloff (GCB 6/1) tells us to read a book by Australian Professor Ian Pilmer as he is an expert on climate change. Well, your 'expert' on climate change is an expert all right, in geology, particularly mining engineering, not climate related science. Ian has been derided by academia as a skeptic, one of the 5% of scientists who believe differently to the 95% of real climate scientists who understand and know about the problem. So please. just leave the real climate science to experts such as those in the CSIRO. NASA, IPCC and the other 10000+ scientists around the world. Science Believer
Many of George Bush's quotes provided great political humour. This one's a zinger. -See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in. to kind of catapult the propaganda: It's something our politicians do too much. I don't give a RATS!
All his fuss over a tennis player, really!
His father is telling the world “he is being held captive” why do they think they are soo0 important?
A rat run now has a whole new meaning. PS Elanora
What the hell is the matter with our judiciary? A man physically assaults his partner, covers her in metho while holding a lighter, the judge pontificates about how bad this and then, lets him walk free. John Mc
The two Australian Companies that make the RAT for covid, said they had met with the Morrison Gov minister responsible for its distribution last June or July to supply it to Australia, as it was passed overseas and they were taking orders. The Morrison Gov said the minister responsible for distribution has no record of said meetings and they did not happen. Is the Morrison gov saying the people from said companies were hallucinating?
To Harry who says we need migrants because we can't get Aussies to work. If we stopped paying able bodied people who just don't WANT to work, we'd suddenly have a glut of people looking for jobs. John Mc
Perhaps people are drinking too fast at the cricket coz they waited in line for an hour, get a beer then to return to the back of the line to get the two beers they need to get to the front of the line again and then have to drink the next 4 before they go warm on the way back to
missing out on 6 wickets? Phew! Stevo
Surely now the penny has dropped in regards to living with covid. Palaszczuk govt has once again let down the Qld community. So the alternative is take your health and your families into your own hands. Not feeling well stay home have at least 7 days supply of food water & medications ibuprofen paracetamol to name 2, advise someone else. Then ride it out if you deteriorate call 000. Don’t waste your time waiting in a 10hr queue just to be turned away. Use common sense and we will get through this ourselves. JLG
Both the public service and big corporations have a history of changing what worked with something that was made to sound good by people spruiking the new system and profiting from it. Often a system that previously failed elsewhere. Consequently, service and productivity have dived.
I worked with a bloke we called Hudini, He was good at disappearing. Doc.
The feds playing Batman with the Joker after he was given an exemption to play at the Australian Open by the Victorian government will probably result in a costly legal battle and end up with the Joker being permitted to play here or receiving a handsome sum compensating him for his trouble. In the midst of a pandemic, Tennis Australia should have set an example and refused entry to unvaccinated players in the first place.
An influencer? A nobody who leads other nobodies nowhere. Shaun. Baaa!
Can somebody please sedate Ricky Ponting? If he talked any faster he'd blast off into space.
To Curly Bells, I worked with his brother, The Disprin, a slow working dope. Daz R/Bay
