A QUIET street was shaken by an “appalling” attack in which a car was torched and a decapitated cat left on the doorstep of an Arundel home.

The message “whers my money? tik tok” was scrawled across the garage door of the home in what appeared to be cat’s blood.

The black cat was found on the doorstep of the home with its paws and head cut off – causing a panic among neighbours who feared a local cat had been killed.

The domestic cat was believed to have been snatched off the street – with a microchip in the cat’s remains identifying the owner, who police are yet to locate.

The RSPCA has called the attack “appalling” and offered a $5000

reward for information leading to the conviction of the person or people responsible.

A police source said the attack was the escalation of a dispute between two groups of people in Surfers Paradise several months ago.

It’s understood after the altercation one party demanded $1000 as compensation in a fight over a girl.

Since then the two groups had reportedly continued the battle in several incidents leading up to the

horrific incident at Arundel.

Police were hunting for two men for questioning over the attack.

Neighbour Angela Beasley said she heard an explosion and her husband went racing out.

“He saw the car was alight and he proceeded to put the hose on that for quite some time until the fire brigade arrived.”

She said she wasn’t aware of the writing on the garage door until told, after the fire was under control, by nearby residents.
