SOUTHPORT

The city’s CBD is split into North and South sections in census data, with 36,784 residents. Of these 3153 (8.5%) have arthritis, 2770 (7.5%) have asthma, 933 (2.5%) have some form of lung condition and 1124 (3%) have cancer or are in remission. A total 1174 (3.1%) have suffered a stroke, 1551 (4.2%) have heart disease, 372 (1%) have kidney disease and 595 (1.6%) have dementia. 3764 (10.2%) have some form of mental health condition, including depression or anxiety. 3270 (8.8%) have another unspecifie­d long-term health condition. 21,308 (57.9%) residents said they had no long-term health conditions and 3718 (10.1%) did not respond.

Of the 15,938 people living in this northern Gold Coast suburb, 1189 (7.5%) have arthritis, 1483 (9.3%) have asthma, 227 (1.4%) have some form of lung condition and 360 (2.3%) have cancer or are in remission. Another 134 (0.8%) residents have suffered a stroke, 487 (3.1%) have heart disease, 103 (0.5%) kidney disease and 44 (0.3%) dementia. 1509 (9.5%) have some form of mental health condition. 1326 (8.3%) have another unspecifie­d long-term health condition. 9709 (60.9%) residents said they had no long-term health conditions and 1218 (7.6%) did not respond.

PIMPAMA

The population of this northern suburb has skyrockete­d to 24,601 people in the past six years. Of its residents, 1186 (4.8%) have arthritis, 2184 (8.9%) asthma, 282 (1.1%) some form of lung condition and 365 (1.5%) have cancer or are in remission. A further 138 (0.6%) have suffered a stroke, 527 (2.1%) have heart disease, 106 (0.4%) kidney disease and 198 (0.8%) dementia. 2393 (9.7%) have some form of mental health condition. 1695 (6.9%) have another unspecifie­d longterm condition. 15,509 (63%) residents said they had no long-term health conditions and 2409 (9.8%) did not respond.

COOMERA

The city’s other fastest growing suburb boasts a population of 20,225 people, of whom 9486 (4.7%) have arthritis, 1752 (8.7%) asthma, 230 (1.1%) some form of lung condition and 331 (1.6%) have cancer or are in remission. 107 (0.5%) have suffered a stroke, 428 (2.1%) have heart disease, 104 (0.5%) kidney disease and 29 (0.1%) have dementia. 1900 (9.4%) have some form of mental health condition. 1510 (7.5%) have another unspecifie­d longterm condition. 12,647 (62.5%) residents said they had no long-term health conditions and 2105 (10.4%) did not respond.
