What time do you wake up on a Saturday?
Wake up time on Saturday (and every day) is around 5.30am due to my energetic young sons, Jacob, 8, and Kaspar, 5, who don’t mind if it is still dark when they rise.
Best place to go with kids?
My boys love a good park and Toowoomba has many of them to choose from.
Favourite park?
Queens Park and Laurel Bank Park in Toowoomba are particularly beautiful. They have stunning gardens to stroll around, as well as excellent play areas for children.
Local coffee haunt?
Deli Delicious located on Herries St, Toowoomba, has excellent coffee.
Best spot for date night?
Date night? What’s that?! I’ve forgotten!
Favourite takeaway?
Fish and chips are my favourite, in particular Hook’d Fish and Chips in Rangeville as they do a great barramundi with beer battered chips. It’s excellent, they haven’t disappointed us yet! My husband also makes a mean pizza from scratch – that’s my favourite “fakeaway”.
Where and when do you exercise?
At the moment I mostly just go for a walk around where I live, which is lovely because we live in bushland so there is plenty of nature.
But sometimes I get a mini gym session in at home after the kids are in bed as well.
Favourite place to holiday in Queensland?
We are spoilt for choice in Queensland. My boys love the beach and while they are still young, Tin Can Bay (a coastal town in the Wide Bay-burnett region) has been a hit. They can play in calm, shallow water for hours and feeding the dolphins is a special experience. It’s a great place to slow down for a while.
What’s your idea of the perfect Saturday?
My ideal Saturday is a sleep-in before heading over to my local produce market, Toowoomba Farmers Market, located outside the Cobb+co Museum to grab some fresh fruit and vegies. Then it is time for coffee and to enjoy a delicious brunch, before spending the rest of the day cooking and watching a movie from the comfort of my own couch.
