THE QUADDIE

-

RACE 5 – Benchmark 65 Handicap (1350m)

Sweet Sixteen is the clear top pick after chasing home a smart one in town last time out and should be very hard to beat. Will He Foxtrot is back from a break and was a convincing winner here in the wet first-up last campaign and looks to be the only danger. Nishikori chased home gamely to grab second at Ipswich last start and can get into the money here again. Al Sahara is having her first Queensland start and might be worth including in the multiples.

SELECTIONS: 6 Sweet Sixteen, 5 Will He Foxtrot, 3 Nishikori, 8 Al Sahara

RACE 6 – Restricted 58 Handicap (1350m)

Fast Thinker returns from a let-up and is the clear top pick given his record this track and distance and goes well in the wet. Rockin’ Artie ran second resuming from a spell last start despite a wide run and can go one better here this time. Qukes ranon well last start at Grafton and is capable of getting into the money again this time. Feudalist is having his first Queensland start and would be right in this on his best southern form with his good wet track record.

SELECTIONS: 1 Fast Thinker, 18 Rockin’ Artie, 10 Qukes, 13 Feudalist

RACE 7 – Class 2 Handicap (1200m)

My Snow Queen comes off a big win at Aquis Beaudesert on a heavy track at her first Queensland start and can make it two-in-a-row. Avenue Of Stars returns from a break and brings terrific first-up and wet track form. Philly Special landed the prize resuming at Ipswich and has a minor placing from her only heavy track start. Prince Among Men is yet to miss a prize in his last five starts including a last-start win at Ipswich but just a little query in the heavy going.

SELECTIONS: 1 My Snow Queen, 3 Avenue Of Stars, 5 Philly Special, 8 Prince Among Men

RACE 8 – Benchmark 58 Handicap (1700m)

Torowoto is the top pick after never seeing daylight in the straight here last week and should have featured in the finish. Timely Shadow looks to be the main danger after running-on from a long way back at Ipswich last time out. Bullet Hero has been very consistent this campaign and should be competitive again after winning his maiden here two starts back. Chief Command won here on a heavy track over 1800m four starts ago and is a must-include in all exotics.

SELECTIONS: 4 Torowoto, 9 Timely Shadow, 6 Bullet Hero, 2 Chief Command
